Terms of Service

This is a general-purpose terms template covering how Signal actually operates. It is not a substitute for legal advice — have it reviewed by a lawyer before relying on it for a customer-facing launch.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account and using Signal by Expandeum (“Signal”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Signal.

2. The service

Signal connects to email accounts you authorize (Gmail, Microsoft, IMAP/SMTP, or demo mailboxes) and uses AI to summarize, prioritize, and extract business signals (tasks, invoices, contacts, calendar events) from your email. You control which mailboxes are connected and can disconnect them at any time.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You must only connect email accounts you own or are authorized to access.
  • You're responsible for keeping your Signal account password confidential.
  • You won't use Signal for unlawful purposes, to send spam, or to access mailboxes you don't have permission to access.

4. AI-generated content

Summaries, priority scores, extracted tasks/invoices/events, and suggested replies are generated by AI and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. You're responsible for reviewing AI-generated content (especially suggested replies and extracted invoice amounts) before relying on or acting on it.

5. Calendar feed

Signal can generate a private calendar subscription link (ICS feed) containing events you've confirmed. Anyone with that link can view those events — keep it private, and regenerate it from Settings if you believe it has been exposed.

6. Availability

Signal is provided “as is” without guaranteed uptime. We aim for reliable service but don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and we're not liable for lost business opportunities arising from downtime.

7. Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes what data we collect and how it's used, including that email content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI analysis.

8. Termination

You may stop using Signal and request account deletion at any time by emailing adam@expandeum.com. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as Signal evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
